Castle Towers is a major shopping centre in Sydney’s Hills District.
The 75,000m2 NLA project involved replacement of the air conditioning plant to approximately 40% of the centre, i.e. replacement of the original mechanical cooling plant, including new chillers, cooling towers, pumps and chilled water coils (retrofitted into existing air handling units). Plant capacities and air distribution rates were increased to meet increased load criteria. Trading was not disrupted by the construction works, therefore designs were prepared mindful of minimum plant downtime requirements.
