Project Description
Macquarie University Buildings E3A and E3B Comprised the complete refurbishment of 14 classrooms, reading and student hub areas, external courtyard, IELTS and administration areas together with associated circulation spaces, this project was fast tracked to be completed in time for Term 1, 2019.
VOS Group provided all services – electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire, AV and lift services design for the refurbishment of this building, original design of which was provided by VOS Group back in 2003.
Significant energy saving initiatives were effected including:
• New, energy-efficient linear LED lighting throughout classrooms, corridors and circulation spaces.
• New Electrical Distribution Boards with Section J compliant facilities for energy monitoring.
• Facilities for monitoring of occupancy levels within classroom spaces.
In addition, all teaching spaces were brought up to the latest audio-visual standards, with facilities for lecture recording, hearing assistance and PC integration provided.
